Community Guidelines
Effective and last updated: August 6, 2026
1. These rules apply everywhere
These Guidelines apply to profiles, social posts, media, clips, comments, messages, marketplace listings and reviews, donation campaigns, usernames, links, images, audio, and every other part of DeenConnect. Context matters, including whether content is educational, documentary, newsworthy, condemnatory, artistic, or intended to cause harm. Exceptions are never guaranteed and do not permit illegal material.
2. Child safety: zero tolerance
Never post, request, possess, link to, praise, normalize, or facilitate child sexual abuse material, sexual exploitation of a minor, grooming, sextortion, trafficking, or predatory contact. Do not sexualize minors or share intimate imagery involving anyone under 18, including self-created imagery. Do not attempt to move a minor to another service for sexual or exploitative contact. We remove this material, disable involved accounts, preserve evidence where appropriate, and report to relevant authorities or child-protection organizations when required by law.
3. Violence, threats, and dangerous organizations
- No credible threats, incitement, instructions to harm, celebration of real-world injury, or targeting someone for violence.
- No graphic violence posted to shock, glorify, intimidate, or exploit victims.
- No praise, recruitment, fundraising, operational support, propaganda, or instructions for terrorist, violent extremist, or organized criminal activity.
- Educational or condemnatory discussion may be allowed when it does not promote or facilitate harm.
4. Hate, harassment, and abuse
- No attacks, dehumanization, exclusion, or calls for harm based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sect, caste, sex, gender, disability, serious disease, sexual orientation, or another protected characteristic.
- No targeted harassment, bullying, stalking, repeated unwanted contact, sexual harassment, humiliation, or coordinated abuse.
- Religious disagreement and criticism must not become threats, takfir used to incite harm, sectarian abuse, or targeted harassment.
- Do not share private information, home addresses, precise locations, financial details, identity documents, or other sensitive data without authorization.
5. Sexual and intimate content
No pornography, explicit sexual activity, sexual services, non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual deepfakes, voyeuristic content, or threats to expose intimate material. Never solicit sexual content from a minor. Limited health, safety, or educational discussion may be allowed if it is non-exploitative and appropriately presented.
6. Self-harm and vulnerable people
Do not encourage, instruct, celebrate, or pressure someone toward suicide, self-injury, disordered eating, or another dangerous act. Supportive recovery discussion is allowed. If there is an immediate danger, contact local emergency services; reports in DeenConnect are not a substitute for emergency assistance.
7. Authenticity, scams, and manipulation
- No impersonation, phishing, fake verification, identity theft, fabricated emergencies, romance scams, investment scams, or deceptive fundraising.
- No spam, bulk unsolicited messages, engagement manipulation, fake reviews, coordinated inauthentic activity, or automated account abuse.
- Clearly disclose material affiliate, sponsorship, or commercial relationships where required.
- Do not use edited or AI-generated media to deceptively portray a real person or event in a way likely to cause harm or fraud.
8. Illegal and regulated activity
Do not use DeenConnect to buy, sell, facilitate, or instruct unlawful activity. Prohibited marketplace and fundraising activity includes stolen or counterfeit goods, weapons and explosives, illegal drugs, human trafficking, sexual services, fraudulent documents, endangered wildlife, recalled or dangerously defective goods, malware, stolen accounts or data, and financial schemes that violate law. Regulated goods or services may also be restricted even where locally legal.
9. Intellectual property and privacy
Post only content you have the right to use. Music in the background of a video, recitations, Quran translations, photographs, logos, broadcasts, and clips may be protected even when freely available online. Credit is not a substitute for a license. Respect privacy, publicity, trademark, copyright, and other rights. Rights holders can use our Copyright and Takedown Policy.
10. Marketplace rules
- Describe the item, price, condition, location area, and availability honestly.
- Use your own images or images you are allowed to use.
- Do not misrepresent identity, ownership, authenticity, defects, delivery, or payment terms.
- Do not pressure users to reveal precise home locations or sensitive payment information in public.
- Use safe meeting locations and trusted payment methods. Report suspected fraud.
11. Donation and fundraising rules
- Campaigns must be truthful, lawful, specific, and supported by requested verification.
- Funds must be used only for the stated purpose. Material changes must be disclosed.
- No fabricated beneficiaries, stolen images, misleading religious claims, coercion, money laundering, sanctions evasion, or personal enrichment disguised as charity.
- Review or approval by DeenConnect is not an endorsement or guarantee.
12. Screening and pre-publication review
DeenConnect screens submitted text for high-confidence safety violations and patterns associated with scams or spam. Text may be rejected before it is accepted. Social posts containing media, media videos, and new profile photos are not displayed publicly until an authorized administrator approves them. These controls are imperfect: altered spelling, language, quotation, religious discussion, educational context, or other factors can produce a missed violation or a mistaken decision. Do not try to evade screening. Use the appeal contact below if you believe a submission was rejected incorrectly.
13. Reporting and blocking
Use the in-app report option on content or accounts and choose the closest reason. Include enough context for review without reposting illegal material. Use blocking to stop unwanted contact. For child-safety emergencies, credible threats, or imminent danger, contact the appropriate emergency or law-enforcement service first and then notify DeenConnect. Copyright notices follow the separate copyright process.
14. Enforcement
Depending on severity, context, history, and legal duties, we may warn, reduce distribution, remove content, reject a listing or campaign, restrict messaging or publishing, suspend an account, permanently disable an account, preserve evidence, or notify authorities. Severe conduct may result in immediate action without warning. Attempts to evade enforcement may lead to additional accounts being removed. Not every report results in action, and privacy or safety obligations may limit what we can tell a reporter.
15. Appeals and contact
To ask for review of an enforcement decision, email the address below from the email associated with your account. Include your username, the content or decision involved, and why you believe it should be reconsidered. Do not send passwords, full banking details, or illegal imagery by email.
